As many of you know the MIHN Van was donated by Good News Garage and potentially could provide assistance to one of our families in the Network. As a non-profit GNG needs help in getting the word out. Below is information regarding GNG and how MIHN might assist their efforts.
Good News Garage is a small, New England non-profit that serves and supports our neighbors. Our sole purpose is to accept donated vehicles, recondition them and award them to low-income New England residents helping them toward self-sufficiency. We compete with large, national for-profit and non-profit organizations (Helping Hands, Salvation Army, NPR, Special Olympics, etc.) without the resources they have. A large percentage of our donations come from "word of mouth" so if I can educate 15 MA congregations on who we are and what we do, it is great for us and the disadvantaged clients that GNG and the MIHN serves. Once people discover how we use donated vehicles, then they are typically "sold" on our program and become devoted supporters.
